Yume Kaze no Sato Agri Land Ei Complete Guide Revived from closure! Info on Camping, Lodges & Hot Springs
Mama Usa
This camping ground is located on a highland at 450m elevation in the Minamisatsuma region of Kagoshima. Although it was once a local dream spot that unfortunately closed down (suspended operations) due to a decline in visitors, it has been revived with the desire to make it a place where many people can enjoy and relax once again!
This time, our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids aged 4 and 1) went there, so I'll be writing this as a review too! We drove 5.5 hours on local roads, making stops along the way to get there! (^^♪

Other Recommended Spots (Daguri Cape, etc.)
If you are looking for other places to play in Kagoshima, the following spots are also popular.
Daguri Cape Amusement Park
An amusement park located in Shibushi City (about 2 hours by car from Agri Land Ei).
It's a retro-style park with a Ferris wheel and go-karts, popular for its ocean view. The name sounds similar to "Agri Land Ei," but they are far apart, so please be careful.
Message from the Owner (Manager)
Hello. We are the NPO Waku Waku Project, volunteering to manage Agri Land Ei. We are working to revitalize Agri Land Ei, which had closed once, into a park loved by everyone again through events and maintenance. We improved the grounds to be usable as a campsite starting April of this year (2023). We are still figuring things out as we just started. We hope to make it a comfortable facility while listening to everyone's feedback. Agri Land Ei has a very rich expression, offering scenery that can only be experienced at that moment. Sometimes the wind is strong or it's foggy, but that is also part of nature's charm. If you are interested, please come and visit us. If you have any inconveniences with the facilities, please speak to the manager at the administration building, and we will do our best to accommodate you. We may be able to prepare a place for nursing or diaper changing, so please feel free to ask. We look forward to seeing many of you here.
【Q&A / Trivia】 FAQ & Outdoor Trivia
Information useful for using Agri Land Ei and general questions related to camping and outdoors.
Q. What is the elevation of Agri Land Ei?
Because it is on high ground, it is relatively cool in summer, but it can get chilly at night or in winter. There is also a chance to see a sea of clouds, but it is an environment prone to fog.
Q. What is the fee for Agri Cottage? (Difference from Lodge)
See the "Lodge" section in the article for details.
【What is the difference between a Cottage and a Lodge?】
Generally, a "Cottage" refers to a detached house with full facilities like a rental villa, while a "Lodge" often refers to simple mountain hut-style accommodation. However, the lodges at Agri Land Ei are equipped with kitchens and Wi-Fi, offering comfort close to a cottage.
Q. Which is the hardest campsite to book in Japan?
Q. Why is Hayakawa-cho Auto Campsite closing?

My Review: Agri Land Ei Experience
- Kids enjoyed themselves even in the rain thanks to rental goods!
- Mt. Kaimon looks beautiful on sunny days!
- Kids loved the playground and ride-on toys!
- The starry sky at night was beautiful!
- Weather changes easily due to the mountain location (fog/rain).
This was our first time camping in Kagoshima, and we visited this place! (*´з`) When we arrived, the fog was terrible and I was anxious, but it cleared up around 2 AM and we could see a beautiful starry sky! Also, it was raining a little upon arrival, forcing the kids to stay inside the tent, but thanks to the rental goods from the reception (spinning tops, 'Gao Gao Kaiju' game), we had a fun time! The second day was sunny, Mt. Kaimon was clearly visible, and the kids were in a great mood playing on the playground and with borrowed ride-on toys. (*´з`) It seems events are held frequently, so if we lived closer, this is a campsite we'd want to visit often!!
